PRODESA 1999-2026

PRODESA, founded in 1999 in Zaragoza, is a leading engineering firm and an international benchmark in solutions for the production of solid biofuels.

We design and build biomass plants, with a special focus on wood pellets, both white and black.

Our structure is based on three business divisions that allow us to offer a comprehensive service: turnkey solutions, equipment manufacturing, dies, rollers, and specialized after-sales service.

GLOBAL PRESENCE: With headquarters in Zaragoza (Spain) and offices and workshops in the U.S., Canada, France, India, and Vietnam, we have established a strong presence in strategic markets across North America, Europe, and Asia.

With projects in more than 35 countries and over 95% of our business dedicated to exports.

1999

Founding of PRODESA Medioambiente.

2000

Construction of the Alfalfa processing plant in China (Baolong).

2002

Construction of three forage plants in Spain.

2005

Construction of the first wood pellet plant in Vizcaya.

2008

Construction of the first wood pellet plant abroad, in Portugal.

2011

Establishment of the subsidiary PRODESA North America.

EXPOBIOENERGIA Award.

3-Year R&D&I Project.

Large-scale production plants.

2012

Establishment of PRODESA Smart Operations, headquartered in Zaragoza, for spare parts management and O&M of industrial plants.

2013

Construction of a wood pellet plant with cogeneration in Russia (Siberia).

2014

Construction of the first wood pellet plant in Southeast Asia.

2015

Construction of a wood pellet plant in the U.S., with an expansion in 2021.

2016

Opening of the PRODESA France branch.

2018

Construction of 3 wood pellet plants in Canada.

2019

Construction of a wood pellet plant in Vietnam.

Establishment of the PRODESA Asia subsidiary and an after-sales service center with its own staff in Hanoi.

2020

PelletBOX.

First containerized wood pellet plant in Texas (U.S.).

Construction of a peanut shell pellet plant.

2021

José Ignacio Pedrajas becomes the president and sole owner of PRODESA. Appointment of José Ricardo Castro and Carlos Isábal as Co-CEOs.

Creation of PROGRANUL Equipment and France.

Launch of the TORO pellet mill and the THOR hammer mill.

2021 Zaragoza SME of the Year Award.

2022

Launch of the TITÁN green mill.

2023

Launch of the GOAT pellet mill.

2024

Opening of the PRODESA India branch.

Inauguration of new facilities and expansion of production capacity at the PTR in Zaragoza.

Opening of a new die manufacturing line.

Acquisition of Tresmares: the Santander Group acquires a 26% stake in the company, significantly increasing the group's financial capacity.

MAZ Healthy Company Award: commitment to promoting employee health and safety.

2025

Launch of LLR rollers (lifetime lubricated).

Winners of the Gold Award for Innovation at Bio360 (France), Expobiomasa (Spain), and BioEnergy Global (India).
